A brother (in Alaska) and sister (in Minnesota) do their best to make the world a better place, through environmental and social justice causes. Some people would say we're not old enough to be real hippies, and we're keen on personal hygiene, but we're proud to be hippies in our own right.
Well, I think it is time for me to make a recycling comment. 2009 has been the year of recycling floors for me. It started by having our treated lumber 20 year old deck refurbished by having the boards turned over and restaining with a better more translucent stain and replacing the top of the deck railing. The year is ending with the scrubbing of a tile floor at church that might have been replaced; it made the kitchen look so dirty. Both projects needed more sweat and imagination than money, will save the environment some "trash", and look great.
